Member Assistance Fund
UAOSU members experiencing emergency financial hardship may request assistance from our Assistance Fund. All UAOSU members are eligible for assistance except those serving on the Executive Council and those employed by UAOSU, and their household members. Requesting assistance requires specifying only minimal information about the broad category of financial hardship and the amount of assistance requested. Assistance requests will generally be approved when funds are available.
Each assistance award will be at most $1,000, with typical awards of $500 or less. Assistance requests may be partially funded. Preference may be given to members who have not recently requested assistance.

Assistance requests will be received by UAOSU staff, anonymized, and forwarded to the Executive Council for review. Requests will be reviewed by the Executive Council within 10 days of their submission. Assistance requests will be reviewed in the order received until the budget for the quarter is spent. Quarters begin on June 16, September 16, December 16, and March 16.
In extraordinary cases, the Executive Council may approve individual exceptions to this policy.
